The response to issue 19 was: “Our intention was to insure that the vent
does not get too large in relation to the room size. A ratio of the room
volume to vent area (not the other way around) of about 2 m is now used in
the documentation.”

The current text (SP 1026, April 2009) is: “In a single compartment, the
ratio of the area of vents connecting one compartment to another to the
volume of the compartment should not exceed roughly 2 m.”

The units in the current SP 1026 do not seem consistent. Is a revision to
the text planned?

You're correct. The manual is still wrong. I've changed the document and
it will be reflected in the next official
update. The text has been changed to

In a single compartment, the ratio of the volume of the compartment to the
area of vents connecting the
compartment to another should not exceed roughly 2 m.
