Enhancing bass performance in home cinema or stereo systems, the Mission MS-subwoofer range incorporates a specially developed long-throw bass driver and an ultra-fast balance-drive Class D power amplifier manufactured to produce a powerful response. On top of this, a variable crossover frequency control offers seamless integration with other speakers in the system to provide extended subsonic with total precision and clarity.
The Mission MS-450 Subwoofer is an active dynamic-drive IB subwoofer system featuring a single 15-inch (380mm) cone long-throw drive unit, ideal for delivering powerful and deep bass. With an impressive amplifier power output of 400W, this subwoofer ensures robust and immersive low-frequency performance. Its wide frequency response range of 25Hz to 150Hz (3dB) guarantees accurate bass reproduction across various audio content. The subwoofer offers flexible connectivity options with stereo line inputs (2 x RCA Phono) and mono (LFE) line input (RCA Phono), catering to different setup configurations. The adjustable crossover range from 40Hz to 150Hz allows seamless integration with main speakers, ensuring balanced sound output. Additionally, the input sensitivity of 200mv for maximum output ensures efficient power utilization. However, given its large driver size and powerful amplifier, the MS-450 may occupy significant space and consume more power compared to smaller subwoofers. Nonetheless, its ability to produce deep, impactful bass makes it an excellent choice for home theater enthusiasts seeking immersive audio experiences.
Q3: Is the Mission MS-450 compatible with different audio systems? A3: Absolutely, the Mission MS-450 offers versatile connectivity options, including line-level and speaker-level inputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of audio systems.
It depends on where you are and what you are ordering. All types of speakers will take minimum 4-5 business days as per the delivery location. Products that are not magnetic can be delivered faster if customer agrees to bear air-freight cost.

If the waiting period for replacement is within 4 weeks then we will try to supply our customers a standby product until the original one gets replaced.
The mauve graph is the response of the subwoofer alone. The subwoofer output fromthe my Technics receiver is rolled off above 100 Hz at 12dB/oct, and this is reflected inthe measured response curve. The 6dB dip at 44Hz is a room artifact.
The red graph is the response of the Missions with their ports stuffed with dampingmaterial, which basically converts them into sealed systems. Now, why would I dothis? Well, examine the dark blue graph, which is the combined response of thesubwoofer and the Mission 751 speakers in sealed configuration. The response of thesubwoofer is set about 4-5dB higher than the main speakers, to match my personalpreferences. Bring it down by 4dB, and the response will be basically flat (exceptfor that 6dB dip) from below 30 Hz to 200 Hz. Not too bad at all.
Now let's look at what happens if we leave the Mission 751 speakers in their normalvented configuration and then add the subwoofer. The solid blue line shows thecombined response of the vented 751 speakers with the subwoofer - notice the DIP inresponse between 100 to about 180 Hz, then the massive peak at 75 Hz? Not very nice! This dip and peak could probably be adjusted by turning down the subwoofer's outputa little, but at the expense of the low bass response.
Now, let's see what happens if we reverse the leads to the sub (basically changing thephase by 180 degrees). The resulting response is indicated by the dashed blue lineon the graph. No dip and peak in the x-over region this time, but notice thedownward sloping response from 120 Hz? This ain't too hot either!
So, it seems from the measurements that the combination of the sealed Mission 751s andthe subwoofer provides the best response. This combination comes with problems ofits own though - the power handling of the main speakers is now reduced within theirpassband, and there's still a little too much interaction between the subwoofer and themain speakers. However, the combined response of this system is definitely betterthan any of the vented combinations.
Accessing the pcb is fairly straight forward. Disconnect the power. Remove only the outer screws from the control back-plate and use a wide flat blade (wallpaper scarper) to gently ease the control back-plate from its foam padding.
If you are handy with a soldering iron (or you know someone else who is) and you have one of these units not working or not working very well and you want to spend a few pounds on the components then you may be able to bring a dis-guarded unit back to life.

I own several mission products and have never been dissapointed until now. I have owned the 700ASI for over a year and from day one this sub had issues. The build quality is shody with grill popping off very easily and taking one of the clamps with it. The amp section has an annoying hum, not loud just noticable if you are listening for it. Its auto shut off does not work, it remains on all of the time. Denon basically tells me fat chance we do not deal with Mission anymore so you are SOL. The sound is OK for $299.00, but not when you look at its retail of $499.99. During movies with very complicated multilayered bass sequences, such as the opening scene of SW/II Attack of the Clones you could hear audible chauffing during the explosions. This tends to happen when pushing the system during any explosion scene. To get well defined bass you must turn it up to 3/4's of it's full capabilities. Overall a real disappointment.
