Hey Friends,

How about following a common study plan for a month and see how it
goes for us ?

I mean something like this :
week 01: Quant first 2 chapters and Fixed Income : first 2 chapters ?

or like follow the reading sessions , coursewise - as mutually decided
and proceed as per the given schedule ?

And then discuss our doubts here ?

cheers!

its much easier to solve problems like say TMV with TI calci as approved by CFA institute.

also it will be a good idea to get accustomed to its setting.

i hv been using Texas Instrument BA plus II professional calci ( recommended on the CFA institute page also) . there is a HP product also recommended, but i hv least personal experience of using it.

i bought it from the TI dealer for india, located in bangalore. He will ship aross anywhere in India, but payment has to be made prior by coueir or card.

you can google TI india dealer using poduct name. Sorry i dont have his contact now.

@Ashish - Thanks! I know,...I appreciate your agreement.

I guess we should have like a couple of more in for this idea, so that we begin scheduling. Likewise, we will have a good number to help us get the push too!

We can wait for a couple of more days and then build concretely on this front.

Keep an eye on ur emails!

Cheers!
Aakash.

Hey Folks,

We are 4 of us as of now - Amit, Ashish, Sumit and myself.

I guess we are good to begin with. Let us begin with Quan, as few of us have already suggested that. I may recommend, to have one more reading to begin simultaneously, as only quan may leave us dry and with free time.

Let us schedule the following for this week:
Quant: Study Session 2 : Time Value of money and Discounted Cash Flow Application - with problems.
Economics: Study Session 4 - entire! - this basically builds on the basics of microeconomics.

I guess this will be a good mix of problem solving and readings.

P.S. I am referring to Schweser notes. We should target to finish these notes within 3 months to make sure we have sufficient time for our further preparations.

Cheers!
Aakash.

other concepts

I would be completing 50 percent quant by this week and also the

Basically you read thru the schweser notes and luk thru to solve the
questions at the end of each chapter. You may also refer the CFA
notes, if you havent done so in the past.

I guess this shud be easy by itself. As for the notes, quant basically
involves understanding the concepts (shdu get thru by reading) and
knowing the formulae - this can be crammed up n also you may sue the
formulae sheet provided with schweser!

If you require assistnace beyond this, i may suggest you to go thru
individual topics coursebooks - like say probablity and stats - if you
havent had any background in these areas!

Overall, Quan is relatively easy and manageable.

nope...whoso ever send you this score card....makes artificial score card....this is not what actual score card looks like....I cant send u the actual score card but can provide you the score table.....the score card u provide has only 9 subjects while in CFA we have 10(corporate finance is missing)....the maximum score of each subject is wrong....the name of each module is wrong....and if a persons fail in the exam CFA provide a extra Band score....which is missing in this result.....the actual result table is looks like this.....
