Brain,

Attached news from Reuters provide some hits to EU rescue plan. Although it is related Ir eland, it also true to Greece in general. Please go search as much info as you can.

May be you can look into the rescue plan from:
1. "bailout could lead to Ireland being suspended from bond markets for three or four years"
Q. Is it true to Greece too? I read that Greece will issue mid-term bonds in 2012.

2. "Ireland and others say Germany has aggravated problems by pushing the idea of asset value reductions or "haircuts" for private bondholders under a permanent euro zone rescue mechanism which Berlin wants in place from 2013.
Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou said Berlin's demand that banks and bond markets share the pain of a sovereign debt default could push some euro zone economies toward bankruptcy."
Q. What is the role of Germany in the EU rescue plan to Greece?

Best regards,

Hi all,

As discussed, I'd updated my path in this PDF file. And, I also found a link regarding the historial budget deficit of Greece.

Brain,

May be you should do more research on the topic. I don't see any of your new slides answer the questions that we have posted.

Q1. How did the plan require Greece to stop issuing long to mid-term bond? E.g., what is the term of the 5% rate on May 2 (Slide1)? Any other rates and terms?
Q2. How Germany request of debt tightening / reform add into the plan?
Q3. What has Greece done in order to allow in the rescue plan? For example, refer to my latest forwarding, Greece increased tax rates in some area.
Q4. Refer to my latest news forwarding, it is clear that the plan included different funding periods. The next funding will be in Dec and Greece may has problem in getting the funding as her failed in meeting the target debt ratio.

Q1 and Q4 are useful as the former affects the term structure and Q4 provides hit on the cash flow of the swaps.

Dear Eric,

It is quite hard for me to keep track each new progress of how the plan proceeding during this period. Different related questions can be endlessly raised out as this problem is huge.

Anyway, I will try.

Dear Eric,

I got problem to understand those news and many terms stated inside as I don't have that kind of knowledge. So, I find it very hard to put them into the slides. For example, many concepts there are beyond the lectures covering, and I cannot easily identify how is the relationship or the cause and effect between them.........if I need to clarify and answer those questions raised each by each, I don't think I got sufficient time to handle that. So, please advise how can I proceed based on my situation.

Brain,

We all agree that many things are happening now. It is difficult to keep track the development while updating the contents. This is more true to me as my part is to state the current status. But for your part, the borrowing rates and terms (Q1), and funding period (Q4) are all set at the beginning of the plan was signed (as far as I can read from the news which I have forwarded out there is not yet any hits of amendment.).
