Here's a quick and silly question for you; how do you pronounce ORM?

Do you say the letters (i.e., o-r-m), or do you pronounce it like a word (i.e. like the word form, without the f)?  I've always said it using the individual letters, but then I also used to pronounce SQL as s-q-l and eventually switched to saying sequel.

So, which camp are you in?

Well I am in the camp of O-R-M and S-Q-L :)

I am in a mixed camp: O-R-M and sequel.

Ditto. Although when I first started reading about ORM I natually
gravitated toward pronouncing it "or-mmmmm".

I guess I'll be the odd guy out with "orm" like "form" and "sequel"

I treat ORM as an acronym and SQL as an initialism. "Sequel" is
something different from SQL, although it's unlikely to be encountered
at the same time as SQL, so I guess there's no longer much ambiguity
there. That doesn't make saying "sequel" when one means "SQL", but
life's too short to get too het up about that sort of thing, eh?

When considering products, I call the Microsoft offering "sequel
server", and the MySQL offering "My S-Q-L". Both because it's the
respective company's preference (by inference for MS, but by clear
statement from MySQL). And I call Oracle "Oracle" ;-)

O-R-M and S-Q-L. But then again, I say JIFF and HAY-peg.
