Dear Mr CEZOBAL chair,
The issue of the BASMAL AGM is not a small item and needs to be given all the necessary thought. i have a few input to this item
1. What is CEZOBAL committees' stand on this issue? Are you accepting to have this assembly take place and be a part of this arrangement?
2. As per BASMAL constitution, an AGM has the following :
a. Each affiliate, teams or groups, sends two representatives to the meeting.
b BASMAL president, Secretary and Treasurer has to "circulate" their reports 21 days before the date, these reports have to be tabled at the meeting and adopted by the assembly, deferred if need be. This is a very important aspect of the AGM because it gives every the direction and update of where we are and where we are going financially, administratively and technically. These reports also give everyone the sense of transparency and accountability for the games development.
c. An agenda fro the meeting has to be circulated, Affiliates have to contribute to the Agenda items.
d. An AGM is an annual general meeting...may be this is the beginning of a new trend.
This AGM, is the first one in a long time. The last one probably took place 14 years ago.
There are a number of burning issues that "must" be discussed at BASMAL AGM level:
1. Status of the constitution
2. Legality of BASMAL executive as of now. Their term having expired in July this year.
3. Issues of office terms,
4. Changes to the constituion, which articles should be changed and to what?
5. Elections, both at BASMAL and NOZOBAL/SOZOBAL levels...when do these zones go to polls? why only CEZOBAL had elections?
Mr Chair, when you took office, the very first issue i put on your table was the issue about BASMAL and its status. As a member of an affiliate, Mimbulu, we have every right to be heard and represented at BASMAL level and questions answered by those in office right now. How do you help us?
Thank you,
Daud.
