Dear KT , Core group Members , and friends CETians & Countrymen ,
I come not here to praise Muthalalli , nor to raise G2G09 from 'the
dead'....but to know what if anything Caesar did wrong that has caused
the Glory of Rome...Sorry....CET67 ,to sort of fade into ...the
sunset....I'm getting all mixed up with my metaphors...Still would
like to know whats going on or not going on ....not interested in the
'monkey-business...1-D.

  Since  Ernakulam people have not been able to make much progress on G2G09, it will  be good if Trivandrum group takes the initiative.

  If it is held in Ernakulam or Trivandrum, not more than sixty are expected this time. So half of that is a good number in Goa . Lets have a different setting . Moreover , Goa is moreorless  same distance from Malabar area as to TVM . For us it is the same distance.

Comrades, ( You can pelt stones at me since comrades are buried in the dust bin after the elections).

I was keenly watching the mails about venue for G2G etc.

For optimum participation it can be only at EKM or TVM. Our buddies are concentrated mainly at EKM, TVM and its periphery

Our primary goal is maximum participation at optimum cost. Cost of the Venue is the major factor, ( the A item). But for the availability of PWD guest house, G2G07 ‘ld have billed us much more. I am not sure about the availability of such facility at EKM. I remember in 2006, the founding fathers of the group could avail of the Marine Club facility with the good will of our Neelambaran. The cost of an equivalent facility is prohibitive at a hotel or a resort.

The LDY was dropped after the cost estimate as per KT. Even after much advt. and lead time for Wynad trip, we were only 19 (10 + 9). And it was one of the cheapest trip. To & Fro Calicut for three days and two nights all inclusive including two drinking sessions  and a movie in the Theatre, the cost came to less than Rs. 2000/- per head.

Probably we can think of a post G2G09  trip, as an option, to Athirapally and Vazhachal ( The two are just 5 km apart and about 20 km from Chalakudy Railway station).

As PKM suggested, let us de link Goa trip from G2G09. Let it be an independent trip like Wynad trip.

As a realistic, I don’t expect too much participation for G2G09 at EKM. Out of the 62 at G2G07, 3 were not from CET67 and four took the pain to come from abroad. At least 10 TVM based didn’t bother to participate. Only one third came for the CET trip and hardly half came for the dinner session. I gestimate the  participation at 60 ± 10, most likely at 50 at EKM and most likely at 60 at TVM.

I guess, the cost per head this time would be at least 50 % more, if the cost of venue remains the same or it would be at least double if it is in a hotel.

Let we NRK keep mom and keep our fingers crossed on G2G09 without irking those who really take the pain.
