CALL FOR PAPERS: THE 31st ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & CONFERENCE OF THE PAKISTAN SOCIETY The Pakistan Society of Development Economists (PSDE) is sending ‘Call for Papers' for its 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference which is being held from December 17-19, 2015, in Islamabad. The theme of the conference is, "Vision 2025: Effective Strategies for Transformational Growth". The sub-themes are:
• Putting People First: Developing Human and Social Capital • Achieving Sustained, Indigenous and Inclusive Growth • Governance, Institutional Reform & Modernization of the Public Sector • Energy, Water & Food Security • Private Sector-Led Growth and Entrepreneurship • Developing a Competitive Knowledge Economy through Value Addition • Modernization of Transportation Infrastructure & Greater Regional Connectivity
The title of the paper, relevant to the theme/sub-themes, with an abstract should reach the PSDE secretariat by July 15, 2015. Papers other than theme / sub-themes will be considered but papers on theme / sub-themes will enjoy preference. The title and the abstract of the paper should be electronically submitted on the prescribed form available on PSDE website. A maximum of two submissions are permissible per author/co-author. The abstract submission link is available on PSDE website, www.pide.org.pk/psde. The last date for the submission of papers is September 30, 2015. The final paper should be electronically submitted on at ps...@pide.org.pk. Please note that only those papers that have been cleared by the Screening and Evaluation Committee will be presented in the conference.
After the conference, papers will be selected for publication in the Proceedings Volume of the Pakistan Development Review (PDR) on the recommendations of the discussants. The authors would be required to submit the revised paper in the light of the comments received during presentation. However, all other papers presented will be posted on the PSDE website (www.pide.org.pk/psde).
The person(s) submitting the paper is expected to be the member of the PSDE. Any person who is not a member of the PSDE at present may apply for the membership and send paper for consideration. All the relevant information about the conference is available from the PSDE Secretariat and website.
The paper presenters from out-station will be provided financial support for travel and 3 nights stay, while those coming from out of country would be provided local hospitality only.
