Using 3D exploratory analysis, investigate your data by interactively creating graphics and editing analysis parameters on-the-fly. Interactive GIS tools help you to create analytical objects by clicking on the scene or using input source layers. Manipulate analysis parameters and receive real-time visual feedback.

Quickly author and discover content and digital maps all within ArcGIS Pro. Discover created work from within your organization or worldwide from the ArcGIS user community. Seamlessly access cloud-based content such as the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World and share your work throughout the ArcGIS platform.

Discover Voxel layers, a 3D volumetric layer to visually analyze and explore your complex multidimensional data. Manage your 3D and 4D parcel data, run analysis with Trace networks, Python Notebooks, Geodatabase replication workflows and so much more. Add your work from ArcGIS Pro to Adobe Illustrator to finalize your design project.

I'm looking to export a map I created on ArcGIS Online to ArcGIS desktop. ArcGIS online allows one to create a map with a selected base style (base map), with set extents, which is what I'm looking. Possible?

For this, you can sign-in to ArcGIS Online from ArcMap (File > Sign-in). In ArcCatalog, expand My Hosted Services (), and Drag-and-Drop the service from Catalog to Table of Contents (ArcMap). Right-click the layer > Data > Export Data (Define the path and name of output feature class).

I may misunderstand what you are asking, but there could be an even easier way to get ArcGIS Online raster basemaps into ArcMap. The Add Data tool in ArcMap will allow you to import a wide variety of data from ArcGIS Online, including basemaps. It took me a while to learn about this when I first started, so I won't assume that you are already aware.

I have a perpetual/permanent ArcGIS desktop licence under the SCGIS conservation program which worked for few months before it recently stopped working. When I try to launch it I get the message which says 'my license is in need of a repair operation, access the ArcGIS administrator to repair your licences'. All the extensions show they are still up to date and I don't see an option of repairing it on the administrator though I unsuccessfully did try to repair it through uninstall> repair. While I was on the ArcGIS administrator I could see that the authorization status of the desktop is "untrusted" and not 'yes' like the extensions. My customer number is 575586.

I'm trying to download and authorize ArcGIS Pro for desktop 10.8.2 as part of an online course. The license is Advanced (Single Use). The course provided links to the License File installer and a NotePad doc where I could retrieve the authorization code. I forgot to run the License File installer before I entered the authorization code from the doc, so even though the software authorization wizard said "Congratulations, your software has been authorized and is ready for use", ArcGIS Administrator shows Installed (yes), Authorized (no) for it (see screenshot attached).

Once I realized what I'd done, I ran the License File installer and tried the whole process again. This time the software auth wizard came back with error code "7288: the activation of the fulfillment is denied by the activation policy for activation ID ESU XXXXX because maximum extra activations exceeded..[Incident #9768-35388628]

It sounds like you authorize an ArcGIS Pro license. Go to the Support Operations folder in the ArcGIS Administrator. Click on the Deauthorize... button to start the Software Authorization wizard. Just click next the rest of the way. You will eventually get to the Deauthorization Options dialogue where it will list all the licenses you have authorized on the machine. It will likely list feature names with "Pro" in them. These are Pro licenses. Cancel the wizard and leave the licenses authorized on the machine.

Instead, download ArcGIS Pro if you can. If you cannot, contact our Technical Support department. An analyst can help you through the process. After installing ArcGIS Pro, it should be ready for use since you've already authorized the license.

As many of you know, Esri is formally retiring ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) for Education programs in March 2024. ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) will no longer be available to members of the ASU enterprise, which is an Esri Education program customer.

Starting next calendar year (January 1, 2024), with the beginning of the Spring 2024 semester, the ASU Map and Geospatial Hub will discontinue license distribution and support for ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap). In March 2024, ASU will no longer have the ability to issue licenses or otherwise provide support for ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap); we have thus decided to discontinue licensing and support for this legacy software between academic semesters (starting January 1, 2024), rather than in the midst of an active semester.

The forthcoming retirement of ArcGIS Desktop has been long in the making. Most of you have already made the transition away from ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) to ArcGIS Pro for your Esri GIS desktop teaching and research needs. If you have already made this change, we thank you and this message is inconsequential.

And, as always, the Map and Geospatial Hub is happy to assist students, faculty, and staff with making the long-overdue transition as smooth as possible. Please submit a Map/Geo Service Request for any questions.

I'm not an ArcGIS user myself, so I'm struggling to understand the ArcGIS product suite. Ideally I would like a on-premise server or cloud based version of ArcGIS so we don't need to purchase new laptops.

ArcGIS Online is a SaaS offered by Esri. ArcGIS Online is a cloud-based mapping and analysis solution. Use it to make maps, analyze data, and to share and collaborate. Get access to workflow-specific apps, maps and data from around the globe, and tools for being mobile in the field. Your data and maps are stored in a secure and private infrastructure and can be configured to meet your mapping and IT requirements.

ArcGIS Enterprise is an on-premise or cloud based single tenant WebGIS. ArcGIS Enterprise puts collaboration and flexibility at the center of your organization's GIS. It pairs industry-leading mapping and analytics capabilities with a dedicated Web GIS infrastructure to organize and share your work on any device, anywhere, at any time.

ArcGIS Pro is the essential application for creating and working with spatial data on your desktop. It provides tools to visualize, analyze, compile, and share your data. It is a desktop client, with hardware requirements:

Now, as far as hardware is concerned, depending on workload, a laptop with a GPU will be more than enough to satisfy most users. your power users will be better suited with a desktop machine, or even a virtual desktop on a server with a GPU and a lighter weight laptop.

ArcGIS Enterprise is a suite of software that combine so you can make those maps and make them available to the world. You don't need to have them to use ArcGIS online. However, when your organization gets large enough it can be a better solution to provide the Enterprise option yourself. You can use ArcGIS online and ESRI manages the back end for you.

Have a question for you . It is about an Annotation 1k that I did in ArcGIS Pro. I need it badly and I need it to export it back to ArcGIS Desktop. Is there a way around to do that ? My understanding is that you can't backwards it.

After you export the Annotation you need to remove feature linking. Or create the new annotation class in the new database using the original annotation as the template and then load it into the new annotation

Short answer: I want to use a GDB annotation layer created in/for PRO in desktop. It doesn't seem like you can convert from PRO to desktop but you can convert from desktop to PRO. I'm hoping there's a hack I'm overlooking

Long answer: I can't copy/paste GDB ANNO to graphics in PRO like I can in desktop. But I can create an mxd where I copy/paste the GDB ANNO to graphics (or "Annotation stored in the map") and then import into PRO so that I can, for example, have a graphic layer of street names that I can use and modify specifically for each map.
