The early history of personal computing is largely either under reported or filled with fictional and/or distorted accounts. How and why Bill Gates, Paul Allan, Ed Roberts and others can together in a small city in New Mexico, in the mid 1970s -- the synergism that emerged to introduce the world's first true personal computer -- subsequently bring the entire planet into the true digital age will be presented in some detail. The role of other key players, such as IBM, Digital Research, Apple, Sun Microsystems, Shugart, etc., in this world changing evolution of the universal machine will also be discussed.

Dr. Edward Currie is a very experienced entrepreneur and innovator. He is a co-founder of PC Magazine. He was the CEO of the software publishing companies Intersoft Corporation and ImageSoft Incorporated and the lead team of several successful start-ups since the early days of microcomputer industry. He is the co-author of a textbook on Mixed-Signal Embedded Design. He has pending patents in the areas of biometrics, database technology, encryption and telecommunications.
