Hi all,

The code for Cesium, our WebGL globe and map engine, is now publicly available on github, https://github.com/AnalyticalGraphicsInc/cesium.  Cesium was previously named Geoscope.

Our mission statement is: to create the leading web-based globe and map for visualizing dynamic data. We strive for the best possible performance, precision, visual quality, ease of use, platform support, and content.

We released  Cesium  under the Apache 2.0 license to foster broad acceptance in both commercial and non-commercial applications.

This initial code release includes a significant number of features such as streaming integrated 3D/2D, high-resolution imagery, mouse control, shape drawing, and low-level rendering.  See the roadmap for our future direction, https://github.com/AnalyticalGraphicsInc/cesium/wiki/Roadmap.

Developers are encouraged to start using Cesium.  We expect interfaces to change slightly as we continue to add features and flush things out.  If you are interested in helping improve Cesium, check out the development mailing list, https://groups.google.com/d/forum/cesium-dev, and contributor's guide, https://github.com/AnalyticalGraphicsInc/cesium/wiki/Contributor's-Guide.  We have an outstanding community of passionate developers, and are excited for other passionate developers to join us.

Cesium demos are still up at http://cesium.agi.com/.

Regards,
Patrick
