Is anybody experimenting with the new assignments functionality in Google Classroom?
Classrooom is mainly used to distribute work and save paper as part of continuous assessment. But assignments appears to go much more in the direction of full-blown  grading with rubrics etc. and LMS integration. It raises more questions with regards to GDPR etc. but it could also be a very good value solution.

Any experiences?
Thanks.

Google Classroom is great for assignments. 365 Teams does the same job, just in a more complicated way.

It is an ideal way to distribute files for students to complete and return digitally. I refuse to take anything from students via email; it just clogs up my inbox, and I cannot see who has and hasn’t completed tasks either. GC does that all for me.

I fail to see what GDPR issues there are if your school has set itself up with a GSuite or 365 system with school emails for the students.

With CBAs and JCPAs increasingly needed, these systems are an ideal way to complete collation easily.

If students are iPad based I find SeeSaw very simple to use. I've only used it with 1st years so far though for basic stuff.
