I came across this really amazing article about Dyslexia, and how a dutch designer designed this really great font. It may be an idea to share it!

his research shows that there is a marked improvement in legibility. You can download it here.

I hate being negative, but so much ‘research’ these days even in especially in political circles have shockingly poor basis in actual scientific research (being based on surveys, small sample sizes, no control groups etc.)

Anyway, IRT this font, this URL may provide a counter-balance, eg it says “In the scientific literature, I found no evidence that special dyslexia fonts confer statistically significant improvements in reading speed compared to standard, run-of-the-mill fonts.” URL: http://ux.stackexchange.com/questions/72290/what-is-the-most-dyslexia-friendly-font

BTW, personally, I’m open to there being colour, contrast, font and dimensional factors that make reading text more physiologically comfortable – and thus help. I tried various shades of colour and they suggested some (perhaps placebo) short-term improvement. Plastic ruler, shorter sentences and avoiding full-justification were also helpful in many cases. And finally, reading stuff that pupils really wanted to read and enjoy – this was top of my list J

Hope this provides some balance / context …

Kindest Regards,

Seaghan Moriarty

I've been using it lately. The font has been around for a while but every now and again it gets a push. To be honest after the initial excitement that this would help him the kid hasn't made much improvement. Also it's not a great font for printing with. As bad as comic sans for ink use.
