Mac Printer Issues

Hey Guys,

I've got a macbook pro running Big Sur. I'm struggling to get it to connect to our school's new printer. The printer is an INEO+250i and we are using the User Box setup. I can't find anywhere in the driver options to assign a User Authentication/Track to the macbook pro. This has worked just fine on all of our windows based machines. Any suggestions?

If you look in settings on the Mac, there is an option to add a printer. Down at the bottom of the page, is printer settings. Sometimes a printer needs to be added locally, or sometimes from a network. There are three tabs in settings where you can juggle between local, online and virtual?? I think, but that should see you right. Shane Egan

Hey Shane, 

Thanks for the reply, adding the printer isn’t really the issue, I just can’t work out how to configure the driver to assign a user box account to the printer to allow the Mac to print to it. It’s a bit of a nuisance.

It depends on what is set up in the actual printer driver after you install it. A lot of those big network printers have a driver section called output method and that's where user authentication tickbox lives.
