The 2022 Bebras Challenge will take place between 7th – 25th November.

The Bebras® Computing Challenge introduces computational thinking and computer science to students from 6-18 years, by allowing them to solve interactive tasks online. Run in Ireland by the Irish Computer Society, the aim of Bebras is to get students all over the world excited about computing. The Challenge is held over three weeks, and you can schedule your class’s test any time during this period. Your class will be participating in the same challenge that’s being undertaken by thousands of students in more than 50 countries around the world.

Bebras consists of fun and engaging short questions, these questions can be answered without prior knowledge of computational thinking but can uncover a student’s aptitude for the discipline. It teaches participants that computational thinking is an integral part of solving problems in daily life.

Bebras delivers six different challenges, aimed at different age groups, for both primary and secondary students. Each challenge consists of 5 easy questions, 5 medium questions and 5 hard questions.

The Bebras Challenge: • Requires no prior knowledge • Has low time investment for the teacher • Takes 45 min • Runs for a three week period, so many classes can participate • Provides certificates of achievement for all participants

Teachers can register their school/class for the challenge and participate for free by visiting https://bebras.techweek.ie/

Students can also try practice challenges on the website in the build up to the official challenge.

Bebras is brought to you in Ireland by the Irish Computer Society, which represents IT professionals in Ireland. Bebras, with its focus on problem solving and computational thinking, supports the ICS goal of attracting more young people to the IT profession.

Bebras is an international initiative whose goal is to promote Informatics and Computational Thinking especially among teachers and pupils of all ages. The Bebras Community is an association of organizations which are involved with informatics and educational activities in this area. For more information please visit: https://www.bebras.org/

Hi Joe,

A bit late to be asking, but despite the website having numerous links to "practice past challenges without logging in", I keep being asked to log in first.
Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Aoife
