Canva for Schools

Hi all,

Just wondering if any schools have had success in registering their whole school for Canva for Education? I have filled in the form a few times on their website but never get any followup emails or details back.

Hi, I was successful, but I needed a letter from my principal stating I was a teacher in the school. I had sent in my teaching council registration but that was not sufficient. 

Now I can add teachers and students to the “school” Canva. It’s fantastic !

Same as Gillian from what I’ve seen in various schools they auto reject Irish applicants but if you reply to that they then approve you.

Hi, 

My application was rejected twice. Needed a letter from school on headed paper and it was grand then. I can add students now to my ‘class’ for them to get the education version.

Highly recommend that someone in the school registers the school. I did it for us last Easter. I had to speak to someone in the states at an ungodly hour but it was worth it. I had to enable a script in the administration panel of our Google but it was worth it as now everyone on the domain - all teachers and students- just logs in with their school address. 

Like everything it was easy when someone held my hand through the process and while I found that I needed to really keep after it, when I got a contact they were very helpful.

No midnight webinars are required to complete the signup process - read the on screen instructions carefully.

There are lots of hooks to get you to attend webinar(s) but it is not a pre-requisite.

Then watch out for an email from Edu Experts (with details how to set up SSO/SAML)

I did the webinar (and agree that there probably was no need) and submitted an application through the link they gave but I’ve heard nothing since. I have a personal education account but I want to set our school up so both teachers and students can have access to the education features. Does anyone know what happens next? I’ve waited the 5-7 days but still nothing. Many people attending the webinar I did were just on to get information on the status of their application.

A requirement of approving your application is that you must first create a Canva account under the email address you listed as the owner/admin of your school or district’s Canva deployment. We were unable to find an account in our records matching the email address you provided, so we are not able to approve your application at this time. Please create a Canva account (a free Canva account is fine) and re-submit your application.

 I had included all of the above, but i sent it in again anyway.

I used my school domain name email, teaching council and school web address. 

Process seemed quite straightforward this evening, for both personal education account (less than 50 mins) and ‘school system rollout’ (pin codes received in less than 30 mins) compared with responses on this mailing list, so not sure what stage I’m at at this point. 

Will check again tomorrow and see whether I’m just a personal account or representative of my school.

I didn't attend the webinar and just filled the form. Didn't hear anything for 2 weeks and submitted again - before I thought I'd log into Canva and found out they had upgraded me and the school - they just hadn't sent me any communication!

While the webinars might not be necessary, I found that from once I had a direct contact I got the help I needed to sort it all out. It was painful but the key was getting the personal contact to help you. Stick with it.........they are actually really helpful when you get to them

Morning! 

I did get my email from Canva Edu! It had gone into spam. The rest of the process was fairly straightforward. The support team were really helpful as has been mentioned on here. I asked them to assign the teacher and student roles for me. All our student emails start with a numerical value so easy to differentiate. They recommend users sign in using SSO as this is what links their account to your team. 

Great to have it sorted. It’s an amazing resource to have and it’s free!

Good to hear! You are right its a great resource. We use chromebooks and one of the stumbling blocks for me was DTP until Canva...........
