Hi
Well done to the organisers of the cesi conference and cesi meet!
Really like cesi meet idea. Have been to last two and they work
brilliantly. Have been to the last few and they get better each
year. The cesi meet in the hotel adds a real conference feel to it.
Can I add some suggestions, please?
More expo exhibitors.
Water in bottles or just available in the conference area. Maybe
sponsorship or put it as an expense?
The timetable was jam packed with excellent speakers but many people
commented on how they wouldbe like a short description of what each
talk entailed. E. G. Crazy talk. Still don't know what this is.
Some of the conference goers may not have a clue what this is!
The lunch was spot on. Really good catering. Get her again!
Well done. Looking forward to next year already.

Hello,

I would just to reiterate the thanks and good wishes to the organisers
of the event and also to the attendees. It was my first attendance of
the CESI conference and was wonderful to have been made welcome. I
hope my contribution was a of benefit and a positive one to all.

Anyone who would like to speak further to me would like access to our
VLE to view any of the courseware, please do not hesitate to contact
me.

Best,

Terry Fannon.

There was a description of the talks on the website, so maybe just
have that copied to the programme next time. Not a problem for forward
planners. Kudos to the organisers for having an open WIFi network set
up for the day.

I found the conference at Portlaoise excellent on Sat. This is my third one
attending now and they are going from strength to strength. The fog on the
way back to Cork was the worst I've driven through. I particularly liked
Kieran Kelly's talk on class blogging. He displayed a microphone with a
built-in recording device but didn't have any info on where to purchase or
what it was called. If anyone knows anything about it I'd much appreciate
the information.

Didn't see that presentation, but any of the electronics stores should
stock cheap Dictaphones with USB ports. Olympus do some nice ones, you
can get them for under the €70 mark with a gig of memory. Argos (you
can have a look online) and Currys spring to mind, but you can pick
them up most places. I have used an cheap Olympus one in the past and
the quality was good.

If you want top notch quality you can go for a zoom recorder:

We have one of these in the school and it is awesome ;)

Hi

I attended the Workshop for Teachers relatively new to Ict in Education on Sat. presented by Clifford Brown which was really interesting!  He recommened a Creative VADO as a useful pocket video recorder.  He also showed examples of his class using a microphone that had a record button and usb connection which could be used by the children. Can anyone please tell me where I could get a a similar child friendly microphone?

Thanks

Hi all,

The microphone I was on about can be found at http://www.gointeractive.ie/classroom-resources.php It is the Easy Speak Microphone. It is €55 to purchase. I said I would put it on the blog, but forgot!
