Hi all,

We installed a meru Controller (MC1550) with 10APs (822i's).

We have not received support for this and since the firmare has become outdated.

I think this may be causing packet loss and conncection problems on our network.

I am looking to update to a newer firmware version.

Can anyone on this forum help me on the process and where to get the latest firmware.

I contacted the company who installed it but they are no longer supporting Meru as it was sold to fortinet.

I have good but limited knowledge on this process. I would be confident of doing it myself with the right advice.

Hi Stephen,

You will need to contact Fortinet with your account details.

If you have Meru equipment - and used to have (or maybe don’t anymore) a contract - you may find it difficult.

I used to install Meru networks and they used to operate under a license model… which you didn’t have to pay.

You could just purchase the Controller and APs… install and you’re good to go.

However - if you needed to make any changes (such as Firmware update, SSID change, etc.) you needed to re-license… plus arrears.

This model was clearly not sustainable (given that Unifi was coming to market then) - and I don’t know where that stands now.

Many thanks!

Chris
