Getting a move away from algorithims & a need get back to RSS

Hi all 

I have been a big advocate of using RSS going back years! I have found in the past year or so FB, Twitter etc is getting worse on accessing useful stuff especially the downranking of posts that link offsite. Using RSS, you subscribe to feeds from various websites and social media like mastodon, bluesky feeds and they will push the content to you rather than having to travel to their site to access the information. I have swung back to more heavy usage of RSS as a result.

It is really eye watering to see how few official Irish Education sites don't offer an RSS feed. I think we need to start to bring it to their attention as I think we are going to have to move away from the ersatz content we are getting from the media companies
