Helo everyone!
I'm a longtime lurker/first time poster on this CESI List which is an absolute goldmine of information so I'm hoping for some advice today. A friend of mine works in a Gaelscoil where a parent has made a very generous donation of three computers to each classroom in the school and he has asked me what can he do with them. They already have a computer room in the school so the principal has told the teachers that the three computers should be used as a motivation for early finishers. Can anyone recommend any software (preferably free!) that would be useful to have installed or has anyone in a similar situation any ideas that I can pass on to him?
Kindest Regards,
Mary Rose

first question - what type of computers are they?

I would prob use some useful websites rather than download software - a nice one is schooltimegames.com (good games and educational at the same time)

for language practice - audacity can be useful; also vocaroo.com (I guess they are all PCs rather than macs).
If they want more ideas for modern language class, let me know.

Thanks Mary - as far as I know they are refurbished HP desktops loaded with Windows 7. schooltimegames.com looks like a great website.

Thanks Sandrine as well - I hadn't thought of recommending audacity - I must have a look at vocaroo and digitaldialects too!

Kindest Regards
