Hi, we set up a school blog with scoilnet last year but are finding that options are limited as to what can be done.  From a quick search of other school blogs, I notice that many good sites are using blogspot.com, etc rather than scoilnet.  Do these allow for more flexibility and options?  I've tried out various themes for our blog, as suggested by the helpdesk, to see if that'd provide better options, but haven't had any luck as there aren't many to choose from.  Wondering should we set up different type of blog.  As we're in the early stages, this would be a good time to change.  Thanks, Therese

Hi Therese

If you're looking for completely flexibility, you're probably going to have to go down the route of self-hosting. Wordpress is my favourite and is the platform used by Scoilnet. However, you have full control over the plugins, themes, etc. Once you're up and running, it's simple enough to do. Blogspot is great but there are limits as to what you can do. It's the same for all the other favourites, Wix, Weebly, Tumblr, etc.

Hope this helps

Simon
