How do you resolve the conflict?

Best practice would be to enable 2SV on Google/Microsoft accounts

If students don't have access to mobile phones during school hours what are the alternative 2nd steps?

Hmmmm

Hi Greg,

That’s a great question. One I haven’t answered yet…

Especially as all Google Workspace accounts will require 2FA for accounts in October.

All users will need to have this turned on by then.

I would love to hear peoples ideas on how to get around this.

Cheers!

Chris

I thought that requirement was only for admin accounts.

Is there something you can point us to saying it is for all accounts. It sounds like a potential showstopper for student accounts.

We are only at the stage where we are starting to require it for staff accounts. Student accounts would be ... challenging...

Yes, my understanding was that it was for admin accounts.
Best wishes,

It will only be mandatory for Admins (for now)

Perhaps the Minister will issue a grant to all schools who have their phones safely locked into pouches for security key devices that can be used as 2nd step.

Does anyone use these security keys? (€35 from the Google Store - USB-A and USB-C versions)
