TY ICT Summer Camp at TU Dublin

I wanted to share an opportunity that may be of interest to your Transition Year students — the TY ICT Summer Camp hosted by the School of Computer Science at TU Dublin (Grangegorman campus). This camp is organised by Helen Sheridan, who is cc’d here and would be happy to assist with any queries.

This is a hands-on, in-person camp running from Monday, 11 May to Thursday, 14 May (10:00 am–16:00 pm), designed to introduce students to computer science in a fun, creative, and practical way.

During the camp, students will:

• Explore how apps, AI, and smart devices work
• Learn about AI in everyday life, including its benefits and limitations
• Work in teams to design solutions to real-world challenges
• Engage with topics such as ethical and responsible technology

The programme focuses strongly on AI literacy, creativity, and problem-solving, and is suitable for students with no prior coding experience.

Students will also get the opportunity to experience a university learning environment, collaborate with peers, and present their ideas in a final project showcase.
