Hi All,

If you are thinking of moving your school to Google Apps for Education and want help from a professional IT consultant for free read the message below.

If you don't already have a good email system in your school and think perhaps it is time you did then this might be a good opportunity to make the jump to Google Apps for Education with someone to help you along. Google Apps for Education is a free service from Google. More details of what Google Apps for Education is can be found here http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/edu/

John Bloxham is working toward getting certified as a Google Apps Deployment Specialist. He has done work in my school for a number of years and is someone I'm happy to recommend. His contact details are below. He is offering to work with 2 or 3 schools for free so I'd suggest contacting him promptly if you want to take up his offer.

Hi John,

As we discussed the other day, I am currently working towards obtaining the certification as a Google Apps Deployment Specialist. A key requirement of the preparation for this is the accumulation of genuine project experience.

I am therefore happy to help or guide any organisations, including those in the education sector, in their consideration or deployment of Google Apps and would of course provide my services without charge. Whereas this is primarily an exercise for me to gain the necessary experience, I'm confident of achieving a good result for the organisation concerned.

If any school or college is interested in discussing this, they can contact me at the number or email address below.

Best Regards

John Bloxham - Business Consulting

 I'm curious...has anyone thought of making use of Google Hangouts in schools ? It's now supported for education accounts, as far as I can tell;

 It could get interesting if you had students at home sick - setup a hangout, pointing at the class, and allow students join in from home. I use similar tech in work, where a hangout is setup & left running, team members from other cities can join in & chat.

It's a nice idea John. Adding 'On Air' to save directly to youtube
would be a nice way to create open content. Would love to see more
educators 'opening up' like that.

cheers,
José
