Leaving cert CS

Can someone please help me, I’m having NO joy with connections between Thonny and Firebase ? The only Devices connected is a teacher laptop that connects just fine but the relationship was established outside the school network . 

I’m beyond the point of frustration…. I’ve been working on this since Thursday, it’s Sunday morning and I’m shook😂 contemplating leaving all EDU IT endeavors to live under a rock ! 

Is there a tech spec for schools ? A min requirement sheet? Some sort of instructions rather than , the “download and it should work!” Methodologies I’ve been getting .

Hi Hassan! What errors are you getting? Just a heads up what had me stuck was choosing EU as a region on Firebase. Only the US worked for us.

Hi Danny, 

I've been sent your videos and have watched them and I've a better understanding SO.... 

it's not errors it's constantly asking for new Modules eg. python_jwt but when I install it I get an error saying "not available" .

I'll change that EU setting and see if that helps. is there a way to check if firebase is talking to Thonny?

Hi Hassan

I had an issue with the wrong version of Python being run from Thonny in trying to access Firebase.

Check what version of Python Thonny is pointing to and ensure that Firebase can be accessed with that version of Python, from memory Thonny was accessing an earlier version of Python on the machines - pointing Thonny to the latest version (3.9 from memory) where the Firebase libraries were installed fixed the issue.
