I just wondered if anyone has used typing.com with their primary school pupils? If so, would you recommend it?

Hi Catherine, we use https://www.typingclub.com/ and it seems to be good. Haven't any experience with typing.com.

Sorry - I meant to say typingclub.com. DId you subscribe for the premium or use the free version? Did you seek parental permission for the pupils to use ii? Looking at teaching  typing skills throughout our school and typingclub looked good.

Hi Catherine.

We use it and it's brilliant. 

Linked with pupils with Dyslexia and those who show signs of dyslexia in a screener. The admin side shows many many stats and the pupils love it. Great skill for all. We paid for it and it takes away the ads. The subscription ran out and while the ads annoy me they don't seem to phase the pupils so that's a hard decision.. I think we will pay again.

We did get consent as the pupils involved are being withdrawn from their class for 15 mins every morning and 15 mins every afternoon. In a classroom setting I don't see the need as they have no other online engagement through the typing environment. Suffice to add to the AUP perhaps.

Catherine, I will find out more for you from class teachers. There definitely isn't a subscription involved.
