Deep cleaning in schools - what would be your expectation?

Can I ask did any school get a “Deep Clean”?

What is your understanding of a “Deep Clean”?

I have now been in a number of schools that got a “Deep Clean” and the external surface of the projectors and mounts were filthy with dust in every occasion.

Have other schools come across this?

I would have expected ALL surfaces (high and low) to be cleaned fully.

Deep Clean in a hospital setting seems to involve complete dusting of all surfaces. all the way up to the ceiling. Thats what I’ve been seeing in the various ICU and step down wards I’ve been in this spring.

Where I teach the building was deep cleaned before we re-entered it, and we were also assured by our co-ordinator that the building had been “Chlorine Smoke bombed”.

Having said that, I have seen guidance saying that if the building has been empty for a week or more, the chances of infection remaining are negligable. This would be in line with my current understanding of the survival rates of the Virus on surfaces.

I would save the cleaning budget for after you have your first case, and buy simple disinfectant and cleaning products like bleach, and marigold gloves for handling the bleach safely.

Some companies are making fortunes selling what I can only describe in my most charitable moments as snake oil solutions.

This is domestic science, not rocket science.
