Hi All

About a month ago I asked for advice regarding upgrading from Moodle
1.9 to 2.2. Thank you for the advice and pointers. I upgraded Moodle
but to my dismay I was left with a mindfield of errors and problems.
The hosting company Spiral Hosting were very helpful in assisting me
sorting these out but it took a while. It seems that when moving from
1.9 to 2.2 some of the 1.9 plugins are not compatible with 2.2 so they
had to be found and deleted and some plugins had to be reinstalled.
Got there eventually.

My problem now is that I want to add the Google Apps block and its
associated plugins to our moodle site to link everything in the school
up together. Anyone tried this yet? I have been reading up and have
made a start add trying to install but not getting any where yet.
Would anyone have any suggestions, notes or video link to guide me
through.

Many thanks for assistance

Liam,

Sorry to hear about the nightmare of the migration. Can I be cheeky and ask you to list the plugins from 1.9 that you had issues with. IT would be useful for anybody else that is going to follow in your footsteps. In the interim I will try find somebody who knows the answer to your question from other moodle networks that I'm involved in

Kind regards

Mark

Hi Mark

The 2 main plugins that had to reinstalled were: Hotpot and LightBox
Gallery. It seems that lightbox is no longer supported in 2.2?? There
were others that had to be deleted but I will have to look them up in
my notes at home later. Will get back to you then.

Thanks

Hi Liam,
there is a version of lightbox gallery for moodle 2.0 +

https://github.com/netspotau/moodle-mod_lightboxgallery

We use it successfully in the Dissolving Boundaries programme.

Nigel

Moodle 2.2 has built in support for Google Apps - Google docs as a repository.

Thanks Conor,
I had spotted that alright. My problem is that I want to add a google block that will sync students mail to it when they login. Have try following the Moodle docs instructions but finding it difficult to complete successfully.
