Hi! Wondering if anyone can help me out. Have tried everything but nothing working! One of the Samsung TV/boards we have is recognising the ActivInspire pen for writing but not actually writing if that makes sense... the cursor moves but nothing shows. I've checked settings etc but nothing doing. Any help would be appreciated - I'm off on parents leave for a year on Friday so trying to fix all current IT issues before I go!!

Hi Jason, I’m using Chat GPT to helped troubleshoot issues like this. Here’s the result of your query:

Here are a few troubleshooting steps that might help resolve the issue with the ActivInspire pen on your Samsung TV/board:

1. **Check Pen Battery**: Ensure the ActivInspire pen has a fully charged battery or replace it if necessary.

2. **Firmware/Software Update**: Make sure both the Samsung TV/board and the ActivInspire software are updated to the latest versions. Sometimes compatibility issues can be resolved with updates.

3. **Pen Calibration**: Recalibrate the pen on the Samsung TV/board. There should be an option in the settings or through the ActivInspire software to recalibrate the pen.

4. **Pen Settings**: Within the ActivInspire software, check the pen settings. Ensure that the pen is selected as the input device and that it is set to the correct mode (e.g., pen mode instead of touch mode).

5. **Driver Installation**: Reinstall or update the drivers for the ActivInspire pen. Check the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers compatible with your setup.

6. **Test on Another Device**: Test the ActivInspire pen on another compatible device to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if the problem is with the pen or the Samsung TV/board.

7. **Clear Cache/Data**: Sometimes clearing the cache or data for the ActivInspire software can resolve glitches. Look for this option within the software settings or via the device’s application manager.

8. **Check Connections**: If the pen uses a USB receiver or other connection method, ensure that it is securely connected and that there are no issues with the ports.

9. **Reset Settings**: As a last resort, try resetting the settings on the Samsung TV/board to default and then reconfigure the pen and ActivInspire software.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact Samsung or Promethean (makers of ActivInspire) support for further assistance.
Hope one of the fixes work,

Regards

Natalie

Jason

Sorry to bring you the bad news but Activinspire is only licenced for use on Promethean product. You are not permitted to use it on 3rd party product without purchasing separate Activinspire Licences.

If you are not licenced to use it the software unfortunately it must be removed.

It is like using a copy of Microsoft Office without a licence.
