Hi,

Interesting Project for those who might like to create a digital time machine with http://www.historypin.com/  Historypin asks the public to dig out, upload and pin their own old photos, as well as the stories behind them, onto the Historypin map.  It uses Google Maps and Street View technology and hopes to become the largest user-generated archive of the world’s historical images and stories.

I've only had a quick look but it looks great. Students will need to be aware of copyright when uploading photos that are not theirs, right?

My TY class recently published a book on the Millennium Goal no 2 - Universal Education by 2015 - and they brought in lots of old photos of their relatives at school up to 60 years ago. They put up snippets of the contributions they got on a blog as the project unfolded and now that the book is published they could upload the photos to this site it will add even more to their whole experience.

Wow Ban! That is an amazing site.  Thanks for sharing it.  It would be great to see Ireland filling up with photos!
