Hi everyone,
As some of you may know Tech Week kicks off on Sunday! Tech Week is a festival of tech aimed at students, young people, parents, and their communities and aims to encourage them to consider technology as a possible career or field of study through fun and engaging activities in STEM subjects.
Already, 90,000 students have registered to take part in classrooms around the country! Tech Week will also host a finale event over two days (29/30th April) in Dublin Castle, featuring a World Record attempt for the World's biggest selfie and the final of F1 in Schools, where students race mini F1 cars they built themselves. Cool tech includes an Augmented Reality Helmet, 4D crayons, and Minecraft's Creeper (on the 29th) and a Dalek (on the 30th) who'll interact with attendees and pose for photos.
Talks at the event include a keynote from Steve Nevey, the former Business Development Manager for Red Bull's Formula 1 team, the Dublin Commissioner for Startups Niamh Bushnell, and Louise Nicholls, Head of Technology and Innovation at Brown Bag Films. Members of the public are welcome to call in to Dublin Castle during the event!
Lastly, IT Professional's Day will be kicking Tech Week off. IT Pro's Day is a day dedicated to celebrating the role IT Pros play in keeping business and society ticking over. For more details,
