Office word

Would anyone be able to tell me why irish words merge into one in word 2007 leaving no spaces? This is happening on 2 windows 10 professional hp notebooks. I thought that it might have been font spacing settings but that doesn't appear to be the problem. I thought that it might have been from opening different versions of office but that is not possible as we only use office 2007 throughout the school.
