I've written a script to automate the creation of students' Active Directory accounts from their ePortal accounts. I have it set to run every Sunday, so students will always have their account relatively soon after joining the school. Account names take the form brian.henry.15 etc. The code and instructions are on GitHub:
In our school, these accounts are then synced to Google Apps, so next up I hope to write a script to create groups for classes and subjects so teachers can easily email them. I'm hoping maybe someone has already done this and would like to share their code, as I'd hate to waste the time working on a solved problem, and the Facility database isn't exactly a pleasure to decipher. I'm also looking to pull out parents' phone numbers, in class groups, to then sync with
webtext.ie.
