Hi. I was just looking to ask about 2 things. Firstly, Clicker 8 has been recommended to a pupil and we are being given zero funding towards it. Is it worth it? Is there an alternative? Also - Text to Speech for a laptop / Google Chrome. Any suggestions?

Hi Jason,
Clicker is great when needed. You can apply through the assistive technology grant for it. We actually bought a few licences (school paid for the extra) as although you can get one license someone else needs to have it to learn how to use it.
Word already has text to speech inbuilt. You can also use accessibility features so it depends on what programs you want to use.
There's loads of TTS Google Chrome extensions available: TTS on Chrome Web Store- I like NaturalReader and Speechify, but lots more to choose from if needed.
