Back in old god's time, in the late 90's and early noughties,  our school account was hosted by iol.ie (for free I might add).  With the passing of time we move to another company and then to Scoilnet but the oiginal account was still on iol and we used it from time to time for additional srorage space.  Recently I'v tried to access the iol server but can't.  I know in the commercial world that iol was thrown around like snuff at a wake being traded among a number of different companies and I can still access email on the server but I can't get to our website material.  Does anybody know if it still works and has the logon upload address changed or what is it?

Thanks.

I would appreciate an answer to this question also. Some of our teachers have an xxxschool.iol.ie email address - they appear to be receiving mails but unable to respond to them.

Just a thought - it is hardly anything to do withe the NCTE's web-filtering service. probably not - like Tony any ideas appreciated...

The webmail for iol.ie email addresses is still available here: http://webmail.iol.ie/cgi-bin/cwmail.cgi.

OK, so you'll need to know your password. But the details are as follows:

Username: Your IOL username (the bit that comes after the ~ in the web address)
Password: You'll need to know this, you may be able to reset it here: http://register.iol.ie/hint/email.html

I’m assuming you’ve checked the outgoing server.....or is it there is no ‘reply’ button?

I got technical support less than a year ago for an old iol.ie site from BT Corporate Technical Support. I think their email address is sup...@btireland.ie and the phone number was 1800 924 925 (Option 3 then Option 2). Our iol.ie site still works as does the logon.

My problem had to do with changing the FTP transfer mode from default to active mode. Mind you,  BT didn't figure out the resolution to the problem, I got it myself.

Regards,
