Hi all,

Nothing on this for a long time now- I'd like to source a laptop trolley for the school. Capable of carrying and charging 16 laptops.

We have a lap cabby that works well but current prices are out of our range. Anyone know of any other options.

Many thanks,
Trevor

Have you considered the option of making one? We had a similar dilemma a few years back when buying a suite of chromebooks. We opted to adapt a three shelf unit (already on wheels) by putting an mdf back on it and fixing the individual leads and chargers to the back, feeding each one into 3x 6-socket ext leads with surge protectors. One master plug then goes into a wall timer each day. Never a problem, minimal cost & robust. If you wish Trevor I can send you some pics.

DIY jobs are very common in teaching. If you just use off-the-shelf leads etc. there should not be an issue for insurance etc.

I think one of my schools might be selling the one they used , reason , I took the laptops off it and built a classroom instead . Works fine, I can send you images but it will be next Thursday before I can.
Keep looking and if you still need one by Thursday then put up a post .

Just out of curiosity, what do you mean with I've "built a classroom instead"? I guess you're neither referring to the google-, nor to the builders-putting-up-walls type?

Anyone who knows me knows I should stay away from all things that involve bricks and walls :)

The trolley was based in a room that I turned into a classroom / library 📚 with laptops along one wall

Thanks Hassan, would certainly be interested in a second-hand one! Please send on the pics when you can.
