Create a sprite, star in a project!

We are inviting Code Clubs around the world to take part in ‘Your club, your sprite’, a chance to design an original sprite that celebrates your club or community.

We will choose a selection of sprites to star in some new Code Club Scratch projects that will launch in 2027.

What makes your club special?

Bring your creators together and explore what makes your club unique. A shared interest, favourite local animal or place, or club tradition? Or something entirely imagined? Let their ideas lead the way!

Here's how to take part

  • Help your creators make a sprite. Creators can work on their own, in pairs, or together as a club. They can draw on paper, make a collage, or use a digital tool, including the Scratch ‘Paint’ editor. If any creators are drawing their sprites by hand, you can use our printable template to help. Creators should use a plain, solid-colour background, or a transparent background if their design is digital. Choose one design to submit per club.
  • Tell your sprite’s story. Ask your club to name their sprite and tell us what inspired the design, how the sprite reflects your club or community, how the sprite might move, and what it could do in a project.
  • Send us your sprite. Submit the design and story through our form by 9 November 2026.

Get ready to submit your sprite

  • Creators do not need to use coding or create finished animations to take part in this activity — if creators make their designs with physical materials, please send us a clear photo or scan of their design
  • If creators use Scratch, please submit the project as an .sb3 file
  • If creators use another digital tool, please submit their design as a JPG, PNG, or PDF file
Your club’s sprite does not need to be polished. If your sprite is selected, our design team will work it up for the new Scratch projects, keeping your club’s ideas in focus.
