Hi all,
I'm back again to seek your help.  We are (yet again) today trying to connect to Lego WeDo from Scratch 2.0 on various windows devices.  We are unable to do so.  Iseult (on this mailing list) recalls that we may need some add on (maybe dongle) to upgrade the bluetooth device manager.  We can connect perfectly from apple devices via bluetooth.  At the moment we are still troubleshooting and now dowloading Scratch 1.0 to see if it works on this version.  If anyone can direct me to this link to upgrade bluetooth or give me alternatives to the solution, we'd appreciate it.
Many thanks,
Sheila

Sheila copied the below piece from an online thread whicih i copied when i was troubleshooting same issue - If you don't have low energy bluetooth it wont work and you need to buy the dongle - they are not expensive https://www.amazon.es/dp/B00H8O8CMO/ref=pe_386191_51767771_TE_dp_1%29

" Finally managed to find a solution.

For non iPad or Android tablets:

1) Lego Wedo 2 software

- Download the above software
- Required: Bluegiga BLED112-V1

2) On line (https://scratch.mit.edu/) or Off line Sratch

- Required: Bluegiga BLED112-V1

From this thread: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/37349/

Try the unofficial plugin: www.picaxe.com/s2bot

Check which s2bot to use (native or app), and then download it.

Go to http://www.picaxe.com/docs/s2bot.pdf and follow instructions to read Notes on using the Lego WeDo 2.0 (BLE) with S2Bot

Please note: “The S2Bot software does not use the in-built ‘Add Extensions’ feature of Scratch 2, so do not use the
‘Add Extensions’ button. Instead simply open the .sb2 template file provided, as opening this file will
automatically configure Scratch correctly”.

Let it roll!"

as I said this is copied I tried the picaxe plugin and it worked on one laptop but not the other simplest thing is buy the dongle and never worry again!

Thanks for your reply and links Iseult, I will purchase this if there are no other solutions. I did this before with another group of pupils using windows and there were no obstacles or no need for a dongle so I'm just wondering if there are any other suggestions out there for us?
Thanks,
Sheila
