Hi all

Has anybody used a Mobile Device Management system for setting up and managing a pod of iPads? I have used Configurator in my previous school (in NZ) along with the Volume Purchasing Plan. I've heard that Meraki may be better as you can update and push out apps and updates wirelessly. I'd love to hear from anybody who has gained some wisdom on this topic after setting up a pod in their own schools. Wiggle.ie have been recommended as a company that will provide this service and do all the ongoing work remotely but I'm not sure if we can afford this additional expense if we can run it ourselves.
Any advice appreciated!

Regards
Sinead

Meraki MDM is currently FREE and pretty good - so if cost is a factor (when is it not?!) then this is the one to look at.

Seamless if you are using Meraki for your wireless infrastructure but this is not a pre-requisite.

I have played around with it a bit but haven't had time to dive deep.

Thanks, having a look at it now. Devices have arrived so the pressure is on!

Remember Apple dictate what can be managed and what cannot so when it comes to MDM for iPads the core functionality is pretty much identical between products. Good Luck.

Hi Sinead,

I'm just reading this thread re mobile devices now. You may already have your solution up and running at this stage but in any case....;)
We are currently operating a 1:1 ipad deployment in our school. Depending on the. NUmber of devices and server  you may not need the Maraki system. Only now are we using the Maraki system but that is with 70+ iPads going at the same time( new Dev school). Prior to this we could push apps onto all devices using profile manager on server. If you have any questions I can guide you through it!

You can email me at nichol...@hotmail.com if you've any questions etc

Kindest Regards
