Hi,
We hope this finds you well. We are planning again for our Leaving Certificate Computer Science (LCCS) outreach sessions for the 2021/22 academic year. If you are new to teaching LCCS, CSinc will visit your school and work through topics with you and your
students. Our sessions are typically 2-4 hours in length (but can be tailored to your needs) where we cover a topic, such as analytics, databases, web, Python and many more. We provide during the sessions: design approaches, question and context examples and
live coding sessions (with plenty of bugs) using pedagogical approaches such as PRIMM and plenty of activities. The goal of these sessions is to provide some additional confidence to teachers and students, and perhaps demonstrate some approaches that you may
have not considered before!
Over the past several years we have conducted over 500 school visits, and as always with CSinc, these are completely
free of charge! This year is no different where we hope to visit around 100 LCCS schools, nationally!
The only consideration is the visits themselves, currently, with COVID and local, national and institutional restrictions, we may have to visit virtually like last year. We will of course, if we can attend the school in person, but for now, there is the uncertainty
of what we can do.
If you are interested in registering for a school visit for this year for LCCS, we are now taking expression of interest submissions! We hope to be able to work with Phases 3, 2 and 1, where we hope to give priority to Phase 3. If you are interested in registering
for a LCCS school visit for 2021/22 please do so at:
