Hey fellow Comp sci legends.

My Mgmt. have tasked me with the job of putting together a STEM proposal to apply for a €10k grant that the DOE are offering up to schools.

The directives i have been given is it should hit STEM (not just the T) and ideally have girls involved or at the top - to encourage take up.

I have a few ideas of what is going on In Maths/Science / Engineering but like you we are all so focused on curriculum / exams/points sometimes the fun stuff (projects/clubs etc) can be sacrificed even if the interest is there.

SO in order that my proposal is both comprehensive yet realistic may I ask you all what do you offer in the STEM space that might fit nicely into either the standard curriculum or as a TY module, lunch/after school club.

Any ideas etc are welcomed.

Thank you in advance

Kind Regards

Tim Slight

Tim, I think this might be an ideal call-out to make at the CESI TeachMeet on Thursday night next from 8-9.30 at the CESI Zoom Café ... the link to register is at

2 minute & 7 minute, presentations and likely some breakout conversations ... would love this to be on the agenda, but as the agenda is set by those who attend ....

Hope to see some of you on screen and in the chat room.

Mags

Perhaps STEAM or ASTEM rather than STEM but a programmable embroidery machine might be worth considering.

Good video explanation here.
