Hi there,

Our school is looking at seno approved laptops and looking at possibly using something like wriggle or olive to supply them to us so that they are secure and supported. Have any of you done similar and also can you apply for the additional monitoring software to be covered as it ensures compliance with Child Protection Procedures & Digital Safety guidelines of our school?

Also on this do you think a chromebook is sufficient or does it have to be a windows laptop?

Regards

Will

Hi,
Wriggle do AT laptops. If you are putting additional monitoring software on, it might impact the quality of the device you would get, as it's quite expensive, and it's a relatively small amount you will be granted by the SENO. Purchasing the best device you can get might be worth considering. You have to supply three quotes to the SENO. Some primary schools allow students to bring their devices with them.
Hope that helps a little.

Chromebook is sufficient.  Be careful about what provider charges versus price for same device in normal shop.

Also,  be extra cautious about what they say about software to block dangerous services/websites/content.  Sometimes they are charging extra for nothing.
