Remove chat function on teams

Just wondering is it possible to disable chat function on team for students accounts ?

Hi Evan.

If you only want to stop chat inside a specific Team, there is a distinction:

Private Chat (the left-hand “Chat” tab) cannot be turned off at the team level. That’s a user-level policy (set in the Teams Admin Center).

Posts/Channel Conversations within that Team can be restricted by the Team owner.

Yes, that is defo possible.

Whoever manages the licencing should be able to turn it off by user or by group.
