While recording, a recording symbol will appear at the top to indicate that the Space is being recorded by the host. Once the Space ends, you will see how many people attended the Space along with a link to share out via a post. Under Notifications, you can also View details to post the recording. Under host settings, you will have the option to choose where to start your recording with Edit start time. This allows you to cut out any dead air time that might occur at the beginning of a Space.

If you choose to record your Space, once the live Space ends, your recording will be immediately and publicly available for anyone to listen to whenever they want. You can always end a recording to make it no longer publicly available on X by deleting your recording via the more icon on the recording itself. Unless you delete your recording, it will remain available for replay after the live Space has ended.* As with live Spaces, X will retain audio copies for 30 after they end to review for violations of the X Rules. If a violation is found, X may retain audio copies for up to 120 days in total. For more information on downloading Spaces, please see below FAQ, "What happens after a Space ends and is the data retained anywhere?"

*Note: Hosts on iOS 9.15+ and Android 9.46+ will be able to record Spaces that last indefinitely. For hosts on older app versions, recording will only be available for 30 days. For Spaces that are recorded indefinitely, X will retain a copy for as long as the Space is replayable on X, but for no less than 30 days after the live Space ended.

I have been working a bit in my home studio, but I think I'd like to look for some space to rent out for a dedicated area to record/mix my music. I've seen people suggest industrial, but I always get these HUGE warehouses that are super expensive. Mainly, any suggestions on rental space for people interested in recording/mixing music that won't disrupt neighbors? Any suggestions welcome!

For recording guitar, the best option is miking the amp to capture the authentic sound, while using a line out or the amp's USB audio interface can be viable but might introduce noise issues and potentially render the amp's contribution pointless in certain situations.

Hello, all.
I just set up the NVR with 7 PoE cameras (8th will be installed later) and was curious if anyone has any best practice settings for recording and saving storage space. My system has been up barely 2 weeks and already the 3TB drive is full. Currently, I have it set with recording enabled and to overwrite. I have Detection settings with a sensitivity setting of around 20.
First, if I were to disable recording, would it still record motion detection? Would this save storage space with only detection recordings? If so, what are the best settings for sensitivity to ensure I get good records of all motion, excluding wind in tree and insect movement?
Also, are there ways to either replace or add additional storage to have more than 3TB of space for recordings to ensure more than 2 weeks of recordings?
Is there any documentation anywhere, blog post or whatever, of the best settings for the NVR and PoE cameras?
I also have a Synology NAS on my network with about 4TB of free space. It would be nice if there was a way to backup just detection videos to my NAS. Is anyone aware of a way to do this over the network? I saw FTP settings in the Reolink client but, truthfully, I would rather there be an ssh/rsync option to run a script to create backups to the NAS.
Thanks in advance for any a*sistance.

1. The NVR can record only alarm recordings (motion detection recordings). It will use less space since the NVR will not record all the time under this circumstance.
Please allow me to explain briefly how the camera detection works: the camera detects the motion based on the image changes (the background) in each frame. So when the object reaches a certain degree the camera will be triggered. So for the POE camera (not a smart detection camera), the false alarm caused by the wind and insects can't be avoided.
2. Our older version NVR supports HDD up to 4TB. You can try to expand the capacity of the HDD.
3. You can go to our support center -us/ to have a look. If you need, you can also contact our support team at sup...@reolink.com.

For compressed files we can use the bitrate: kpbs is kilo_bits_ per second, so we can divide by 8 to get kilo_bytes_ per second. (If there is embedded artwork it takes up more space, additional to the bitrate calculation.)

Pressure waves like those in the atmosphere that we normally think of as sound do not propagate at audible frequencies in the extremely low density gases that fill space. However these low density gases, typically a few to a few hundred particles per cubic centimeter, are mostly charged, so the particles can interact at a distance via electric and magnetic fields. Mix in rotating planetary and solar magnetic fields, sources and sinks of particles, ionizing radiation and other sources of energy, and an orchestra of wave modes arise. Many of these plasma waves occur naturally at audible frequencies, although a human would not be able to hear them in space because the pressure is far too low. They are associated with moving particles, so, theoretically, an ultra-sensitive microphone might be able to record some plasma waves. In practice, the oscillating electric and magnetic field components are very easy to detect with antennas, so that is what we do. These waveforms can simply be played back as audio through a speaker without any modification.

For a very accessible introduction to space audio, see "What Space Sounds Like - ACOUSTICS" from The Point Studios on YouTube. (And while we're on the topic, note that there are a huge number of fake space sound videos on YouTube. Beware! The planets don't actually emit meditation music.) Oh, and be sure to explore all of the examples below!

I activated call recording for all calls an have some quesions:
As I read the wav files are stored internally, this means that in some time I will run out of space. How can I deal with that? I did not find an option in freePNX menu to delete all call recordings older than eg 20 days.
Can I just go from time to time in folder /var/spool/asterisk/monitor and delete the older files ?

Pioneers 10 and 11, which preceded Voyager, both carried small metal plaques identifying their time and place of origin for the benefit of any other spacefarers that might find them in the distant future. With this example before them, NASA placed a more ambitious message aboard Voyager 1 and 2, a kind of time capsule, intended to communicate a story of our world to extraterrestrials. The Voyager message is carried by a phonograph record, a 12-inch gold-plated copper disk containing sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth.

The Voyager Golden Records are two identical phonograph records, one of each which was included aboard the two Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977.[1] The records contain sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth, and are intended for any intelligent extraterrestrial life form who may find them. The records are a time capsule.

Although neither Voyager spacecraft is heading toward any particular star, Voyager 1 will pass within 1.6 light-years' distance of the star Gliese 445, currently in the constellation Camelopardalis, in about 40,000 years.[2]

Carl Sagan noted that "The spacecraft will be encountered and the record played only if there are advanced space-faring civilizations in interstellar space, but the launching of this 'bottle' into the cosmic 'ocean' says something very hopeful about life on this planet."[3]

The Golden Record also carries an hour-long recording of the brainwaves of Ann Druyan.[11] During the recording of the brainwaves, Druyan thought of many topics, including Earth's history, civilizations and the problems they face, and what it was like to fall in love.[14]

The vision is that anyone can walk in off the street, purchase a room for a few hours, and create high-quality audio content or music comfortably at an affordable cost. This is radically different from the way recording studios have traditionally operated.

The greatest benefit of coworking recording studios is they make professional quality audio and video recording more accessible for individuals. Below are a few other benefits that coworking recording studios offer to their members.

Recordical is a coworking recording studio offering individuals fully-equipped recording studios, studio-in-a-suitcase equipment rentals, premium content, and a diverse audio community according to their website.

They designed their space and services based on the needs of hundreds of creators that they surveyed. As a result, they offer one of the most customer-centric recording spaces there is, complete with flexible pricing plans and mentorship to help aspiring creators achieve their goals.

Grindhaus Studios offers a variety of recording studios geared primarily towards independent musical artists. Their all-in-one membership plans include hourly access to studios, free events, and dedicated recording software.

At first glance, flexible recording studios and traditional coworking spaces may not seem to have a lot in common. However, much like other coworking space niches, coworking recording studios borrow from the coworking business model and sell space as their primary way of making money.

I have very mixed feelings about this.... It's super cool that they added something to the original game in reference to KSP2 but... what in the world is this? This hints that there's some kind of ancient spacefaring civilization. I know there were a vocal few on these forums that wanted something like this, but I really didn't. KSP hits so well with its players because it's so similar to humankind's own history. Except we don't have anything like this going on in our existence, and we (almost definitely) never will.
