(Long story short: some of us in the CT community are organizing a workshop around transparency ecosystems in general, and would love to see submissions from people here!  Please do consider submitting, and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.)

We are pleased to share the Call for Talks for the 1st Workshop on Cryptography Applied to Transparency Systems (CATS) on November 30, 2023, co-located with ACM CCS in Copenhagen. The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2023.

The focus of CATS is on bringing together the academic and industry communities to discuss research on and the implementation and deployment of transparency logs. You can find out more about the workshop at https://catsworkshop.dev/

TOPICS

- Design of components in existing transparency systems
- Lessons learned from existing transparency system deployments
- Emerging applications in which transparency systems may be applied
- Authenticated data structures and cryptographic accumulators
- Notions of privacy for transparency systems
- Auditing mechanisms, consensus protocols, and consistency properties of transparency systems
- Proof systems for data lookup and auditing
- Usability considerations for transparency systems
- Measurement studies of transparency systems in practice
- Social and legal implications of transparency systems

IMPORTANT DATES

Talk submissions due: September 1, 2023
Notification to submitters: September 29, 2023
Program announced: October 12, 2023
Workshop date: November 30, 2023

SUBMISSION DETAILS

We are soliciting submissions for 20-minute talks rather than full research papers. Submissions can be abstracts (maximum 2 pages) or the expected presentation slides. Requirements for submission can be found here: https://catsworkshop.dev/cft/
