Federal regulations and programmatic accreditation agencies require testing in proctored setting, either in the Testing Center or via online proctoring for distance learning courses. To make testing convenient for students taking online courses and self-paced online courses, MCC partners with Honorlock to facilitate MCC online proctoring.
Honorlock is an online proctoring solution which allows you to take proctored exams without coming to campus. You don't need to create an account or schedule a time with Respondus and Honorlock. Exam sessions are recorded via webcam, allowing you to test at your convenience.
Honorlock offers 24/7 customer service via live chat and phone. When you enter your exam, the live-chat will be on the bottom-right hand of your screen during the entire exam, in case you need their tech support. You can call the Honorlock support line at (855) 841-5625.
LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks the testing environment within Canvas. When students use Respondus LockDown Browser, they are unable to print, copy, to to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment is started, students are locked into the session until they submit for grading. It is available for both Windows and Mac computers. There is also an app for LockDown Browser on the iPad.
Also included is Respondus Monitor, a companion application for LockDown Browser, users a webcam to record an assessment session to protect the integrity of online exams. It works seamlessly with Canvas, enabling instructors and students to stay within Canvas at all times. It also ensures the correct students is taking the exam, and that the students isn't getting help from others.

We use secure encrypted protocols to save and view all test taker assets. Honorlock's certified proctors and your institution's faculty are able to review test session videos until deleted based on the school's retention policy.
