changed the way VoIP Drupal handles voice recordings. The VoipScript->addRecording() API has been modified to asynchronously copy recorded files from VoIP providers to the local Drupal server. With the use of a new optional callback mechanism, VoIP Drupal can now handle long recordings without holding users on the call while the recorded file is being processed. After 10 years, it is no longer possible to improve ACR Call Recorder (red) due to Google Play Store policy changes. We are sunsetting ACR Call Recorder (red) and focus our efforts on our new FREE app ACR Phone Call Recorder (blue), Spam Call Blocker & SIP Client (Google Play Store link, app page ).
- ACR Phone (blue) is a Phone app that replaces your default dialer. It has most of the call recording features of ACR.
- ACR Phone (blue) can import your recordings from ACR Call Recorder (red)
- ACR Phone (blue) is not the new version of ACR Call Recorder (red). It is a new app and it is not just a call recorder. It is a phone app with call recording feature (as well as many other features) that replaces your default phone app.
Yes and No. ACR Phone can record perfectly on Android 7 and 8. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to record from the line since Android 9. ACR Phone (blue) can record fine on some phones but may require turning on the loud speaker on others. This is due to limitations brought to Android by Google and affects all apps with call recording feature. No app can record from the line or Bluetooth properly anymore.
IMPORTANT Since May 2022, you also need APH (ACR Phone Helper) from other app stores to enable call recording on ACR Phone (blue). This is due to (yet!) another limitation from Google. See details here.
Nothing, you can continue keep ACR Call Recorder (red) and ACR pro as long as it works. But, you may start getting erros or see this notice sometimes.
Some of our users asking if they can transfer their ACR Pro license to ACR Phone (blue).
This is not possible for couple of reasons.
- We have a few different apps and ACR Phone is one of them. It is not continuation of ACR Call Recorder (red).
- We are using ACR Phone (blue) name because it has call recording features and ACR brand has become quite popular over the years. Not because it is the new version of ACR Call Recorder (red)
- ACR Phone is considerably complicated with tons of different features and larger than ACR Call Recorder (red).
- ACR Call Recorder (red) License is life a time license. It is valid even if you bought it 6 years ago.
- It is not possible to move licenses from one app to another.
- Developing a brand-new app costs time and money.
