Assistive Technology is specialised equipment and technology that students with additional learning requirements use in class or at home, to increase or improve their ability to engage and learn.
Unitec has a range of software and equipment you can use while you study at Unitec. More information on assistive technology at Unitec.
All Unitec students have access to a range of computers, more commonly found in our library commons and social commons areas, across both campuses. For more information about the Library opening hours, visit the Library hours page on their website.
Unitec is a member of Eduroam, an international roaming service developed for the international research and education community. Eduroam enables visitors from Eduroam partners free access to Unitec's Eduroam wireless network and Unitec students and staff can also access wireless networks at Eduroam partners in New Zealand and overseas. Learn more about Eduroam.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an added authentication process for students when accessing online Unitec resources (such as Unitec email, OneDrive, MyPortal) when you are not on campus.
It is strongly recommended to download and use the "Microsoft Authenticator" smartphone app. However if you do not have a smart phone you can use a standard mobile phone. Click here for frequently asked questions or the button below for Information on MFA for Students.

All the users of any software from Sierra Software will receive assistance from the software dealer or from the software maker (we) free of charges, on problems related to the installation, registration and activation of the software. This service is not guaranteed for users of old software versions.
The software manufacturer may regularly introduce changes to the product or to any of the processes related to the installation, activation, registration, update and complementary services. Therefore, it is likely that, if you do not have the latest version of the software, you might be experiencing any of the problems previously solved.
In order to avoid any possible chance of facing a problem case already solved, devoting unnecessary efforts to communications, monitoring and explanations, we would kindly ask you to obtain and install the latest minor version available of your product. You will find the latest version in the services site (this is not applicable when there are leaps on to major versions).
It is likely to happen that the software dealer has not provided you with the latest version, since the software manufacturer offers the latest versions through Internet to all users. Please install the latest version available to speed up the feedback from technical support.

The next version of FLXdrive is currently in development and expected to be ready for market in 2023. With a battery capacity of more than 7 megawatt hours, we anticipate further reducing fuel consumption and emissions by up to 30 percent.
Over the past year, this technology has undergone rigorous testing with Paris region operator, RATP, and has proven its ability to reduce particle emissions from friction braking on metro trains by up to 90 percent. RATP and Wabtec have equipped two trains that operate on one of the busiest lines in Europe with this new technology for a final pilot. This technology represents a significant milestone on the journey towards cleaner tunnels for passengers and network personnel.
Wabtec is reducing port emissions with ShoreCONNECT, a flexible onshore power supply solution that connects electrical power to vessels at port, eliminating the need to use diesel. It connects one vessel to shore power with up to 16 MVA high voltage, self-propelled, zero-emission vehicles.
ShoreCONNECT installations position ports to help address the required 40 percent reduction in CO2 emissions from ships by 2030 and support the local sulfur emission control area established in the Baltic region. In addition, ShoreCONNECT helps to reduce noise pollution in ports because the engines are turned off while the vessels are connected.
Wabtec has developed a fuel-saving engine upgrade package for its FDL locomotive platform as well as a complete control system replacement. The FDL Advantage modernization provides up to a five percent reduction in fuel consumption, which helps customers to achieve sustainability and operational efficiency goals.
In addition to addressing industry imperatives for improved fuel efficiency and reliability, the FDL Advantage introduces next-generation data and software capabilities positioning railroads for the future of transportation.

I faced some challenges in high school that led to me dropping out. After that, I ended up working in cafes, then in tech support and customer service for a few years. Meanwhile, in the background I was working on my kindergarten teaching certification.
My journey took another turn when I volunteered for OMGTech!, a community partner of Microsoft. Eventually, they put me on the payroll, teaching kids scratch programming, robotics, and other STEM subjects. Around the same time, I applied for a scholarship program at Google for women tech makers, and out of 25,000 applicants, I was one of the 73 they selected.
Through the scholarship program, I interned at Google and later at Price Waterhouse Cooper in cybersecurity and began meeting other Māori people in tech. One was Dan Walker, a senior territory channel manager and global cochair of Indigenous at Microsoft. We crossed paths at a Māori tech event, and after just one conversation he encouraged me to come work at Microsoft.

"Career and technical education is critical to our workforce development goals here in the State of Missouri," Governor Parson said. "Every day the necessity for a post secondary degree, trade, or industry recognized credential is growing for good-paying jobs across the state, and we want to support Missourians as they seek to learn new skills, especially in our career and technical education programs."
MACCO is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (APRA) and was included in Governor Parson's Fiscal Year 2023 budget proposal to the General Assembly. MACCO grants local education agencies (LEAs) up to $400,000 for the following purposes:
