Hi!
I have reviewed a few different posts, but still had a few questions about getting authorization from the provider I am working with to validate my SMART app to allow it to access its resources.

Context: The smart app is a Millennium System app that is using the Bulk Data API and using group export. I have done all of the testing and it works with the three-person group in the Sandbox. We do not want to be a member of the Cerner Code Program, so we need to do this manually.

I have worked with my client to put a support ticket in to get us to "allowlist" access to their endpoint, but none of the support people we have spoke to know what: Cerner Code, An API, a Smart App, or an endpoint is. It has been very difficult to explain what we need/are trying to get access to, so any direct way to do this or any contacts to someone we should reach out to would be greatly appreciated.

Secondly on these two documentations:

Bulk Data Documentation:  Registering Client Applications. It mentions managing groups in "Ignite management tooling" but I can't find anything regarding to what Ignite management tooling is or even how to direct the practice I am working with to use that tool. Is that a tool that every Cerner user gets access to? The client I am currently working with only uses Cerner Millennium Powerchart. On the FHIR documentation it doesn't mention that Ignite management tooling is needed to manage groups, so I am not sure how to direct them to even create groups nor manage them.

Authorization on behalf of a system: In the authorization documentation it does not mention on how to authorize with a client.

Any clarification into these would be greatly helpful.
Best,

Louis

I have reached out directly to get more details for your client asks, but here's hopefully some insight if anyone else has similar questions!

If a client has not had any SMART/FHIR apps implemented at their site, they may not be aware of the process. When the client logs an SR ticket, they should select the solution of "Cerner Ignite APIs for Millennium". The process of who will log these tickets at the client will vary by each client's support process.

The Ignite Management Tooling is available for clients/organizations to create and manage Groups for Bulk Data requests. This functionality was released along with the Bulk Data functionality last year, so clients may not yet be familiar with it.

I'm not sure what the question is around authorization. If you mean specifically within client domains vs the public sandbox, that will be part of the SR work to allowlist your application in their domains. They will also provide the tenant key necessary for the initial discovery step.
