Hi,

I am trying to creating patient, practitioner and organization by referring this fhir r4 documentation. But for some fields, i am not clear what is the possible values for those fields.

- For NPI type of identifier we knew the system value is ""http://hl7.org/fhir/sid/us-npi". But Not clear about system and value fields for OID and TAXID type of identifier. For more details please check 'organization.png' in attachment.

Not clear about system and value fields for identifier. For more details please check 'practitioner.png' in attachment.

For Patient,
Not clear about system and value fields for identifier. For more details please check 'patient-1.png' in attachment.
- Not clear about system and code fields for ethnicity and race extensions. For more details please check 'patient-2.png' in attachment.

Thanks,
Ravi

For the identifiers, the systems could be a standard uri (i.e. NPI) or the client could have their own identifiers for patients. These systems will all have to be configured at the client site.

Race [1] and ethnicity [2] are based on the us-core patient profile.

Hi Aaron,

Thank you for reply.

Is there any reference link for how can configure system, then it could be helpful. Also would you please tell what are the valid system for OID and TAXID type of  Organization identifiers and the system for Practitioner identifiers?

Thanks,
Ravi

As mentioned, this configuration would have to be done by the client in their system configuration. For the public sandbox, you can use 2.16.840.1.113833.4.6 as the system for the NPI.

Hi Aaron,
Thanks for reply.

Can you please tell how can we configure system? After login into Code Console I don't see any option for configuring system.
Also, for OID and TAXID type of Organization identifiers, is there any system available for public sandbox?

Thanks,
Ravi

As mentioned previously, this configuration would have to be done by the client in their system configuration.

For the TAXID, you can use the system of urn:oid:2.16.840.1.113883.4.4 for your testing.
